If its not far from yourself have a look and a drive IF it would suite your requirements an extensive check of the chassis and bulkhead in the air with a hammer will bring a lot of peace of mind and if sound could save you a lot of money and heartache later on next just a general check of machanicals how easy does it start does it smoke excessively after idling for 5-10 minutes has the cambelt been done

I have a 1990 110 V8 County. It has been garaged from new (in my barn now), maintained by Dunsfold who waxoyled it on delivery, now done 115k and runs very sweetly at a pace that often can embarrass regular cars. The previous owner used it to tow a caravan in the summer with his wife and never used the back seats. Hence it has very little corrosion (one tiny patch hidden in the door frame). I have had it for two years, no issues, not even a light bulb. Considerably better than the FFRR that cant go for three months without some failure or other.

I had the same itch that had to be scratched! They are great fun, practical, cheap to run and hold their value very well.

RRUK - If you feel like a Defender go for it. they are great - had many and sold my last one to get the FFRR. Don't regret it but reckon the itch will return one day.

Yes it is mine and yes it was alot of work. I enjoyed the building of it but its not for the faint hearted, took me about 4 months of out of hours build time. I believe they can be built for as little as £3500 so in comparison its quite cheap when you look at similar aged 90's plus i have an auto box, active cornering system, air suspension, HDC, ABS/TC, Cruise, AC and tonnes more spec. Coped admirably with Salisbury and equally well with a 90mph drive to Manchester 2 days after... Cant match it in MHO

Must admit that i am a bit of a sucker for defenders. Althought they are cramped, noisy, leakey and cold they are great fun and i like driving mine just as much as my my FFRR
