to pull 6amp on a 12v system over 20 metres you would need a csa of 16mm squared Shocked now that would leave a dent in your door seals Laughing

What happens when the battery is down a bit and you are pulling 6A on the dc side?
assuming all the other figures are the same then the volt drop would be 5.28v.

right if you use 1mm squared multicore 70 degree thermoplastic insulated and sheathed cable

Just been thinking about the volt drop.
so the cable may have to be bigger than you think

Why not keep the charger inside the building and extend the 12v side of it Whistle

I would agree with you the only trouble is the mains cable needs to pass thro the door seals to use as described.
3 core, 1.5mm is just a bit too big a diameter to do this successfully without affect ...
