Thanks Paul. Perhaps I should have started another thread. I don't understand why tyre sites recommend 275/40/20 as a suitable replacement when it is clearly to small a diameter.

Fair enough Graeme. I've been considering putting 275 45 20's on which works out -7mm diameter. 275 55 20's are +47mm and would have expected more speedo error than that. Thanks.

Did your 09 have 20" rims and does your friend's 07 have 20" rims? Even if they were both 20" the difference in ride of different tyre brands can be significant.
