is there any way to test the operation of the air con fan that sits infront of the condenser either manually or via IID?

Drop links are the usual suspect but they are good on mine. It has rattle from the o/s/f wheel whenever it hits any sort of bump, can even feel it with cats eyes.

Hi Alistair, your profile doesn't say what FFRR you have......

If however it is a 4.4 with the BMW M62 engine this is a classic issue, rocker cover gaskets go hard and leak oil into spark plug hole ...

@John, from memory the resistance was 0.4 ohms, but it was within the advertised range.
