I use my 3.5 ton plant trailer, I drive up the ramps after putting axle stands under the back of the trailer.

Yes you are right. Studs in A/T tyres work well on ice.

Kwikfit got £50 for an introduction when we had a Polo. If you are over 50, try Saga Insurance. Churchill used to be competitive, haven't seen them advertise for a while though.

Looks like the bolts were finger tight after an oil change? I would refit with new bolts and Penny washers. Torque it up to spec, and carry on regardless.
