Lost sound whilst adding the new kit.....

I seem to have lost the sound in my car whilst doing my upgrade. The screen when showing TV when on AV showing pictures from either my DVD player or Digi TV Tuner which are both Alpine weren't playing sound so I've now put it back to stock and it's not playing even the radio.....not a happy bunny!!

I have tried to unplug the 3 plugs on the Lear AMP after a few searches on here and other forums but I can't get the 3rd main block out....how do I get this out? the others seem easy over the top clasps.

We were using the power from this temporarlily today by inserting the power cable freely, so unsure if maybe I've blown the fuse for the Amp but socket 8 for the 5amp fuse seems ok, and thats the only audio one listed in the book. Does anyone know the exact one for the amp, and does the Lear Amp have one itself to put sound out to the speakers?

Basically I think I've blown the AMP....how can I tell if it's on and working? Is there a power out from it I can check? Or a light on it anywhere?

As a side note:-
I seem to have a permamnent red light on the DVd which is causing drain, anyone any ideas......I think it might be bust??? It works but I've got an inline switch to cut power currently. all smug in my new plug!

Fuse 8 is listed as Radio, and does deal with the sound too. Try changing the fuse, you never know? All the juice for the stuff in the boot seems to be on that fuse?

Are you sure the DVD light is on permanently? Mine goes off after @ 3 minutes if I have the boot open and the side panel off. .

You get the power plug off the lear amp by sliding the base of the plug to the right and then pulling the plug off.
Have you got DSP indication on your screen?.

Cheers Joe. And yes it doesn't go off.....maybe it's broke....seems to work ok. I think thats why there is an inline switch.

Whats DSP indication.....i.e. the BAS Treble etc?

I can see all the usual on the screen..... all smug in my new plug!

DSP should indicate on the main menu screen.
Have you tried disconnecting the battery, leaving for 10min and reconnecting.
You might get sound back.

To get to the radio tuner involves very little work.
Remove the main central floor panel.
Remove the side vertical access panel.
Undo the bolts on the left hand floor panel including the tie down loop.
"Pull" out the rearmost vertical carpeted panel.
Pull out the side floor panel.
Unplug the connections to the tuner
The radio tuner is held in with one bolt at the top.
Lift the tuner out.

On mine there is a fuse inside the big black socket on the top of the radio, no need to remove?

I had a broken/corroded pin on my dsp amp.
There are people around who will fit a new socket, I got round it by opening up the amp and soldering a thin cable to the appropriate terminal in the amp, bringing the cable out of the amp and then splicing into the appropriate cable connected to the plug.
Effectively bye-passing the broken pin.
Not too difficult a job. Everything now works ok. (For now Very Happy )
Alternative is about £700 for a new amp.
