It comes apart the screen and switch packs are mounted 'on' the fascia but it's not too hard to dismantle.

Yup

The dash top (can anyone comment on the dash vents?) comes off easily enough,

You need to take the end panels off to get the side vents out as there is a 'hidden' screw at either end.

Apart from that there are the large torx (maybe T25 or T30 IIRC) bolts on the top.

With practice can get the dash top off in about 15 mins.

The nav screen is bolted via the side strips and maybe one or two other small torx. I used a torx driver with a magnet to get down inside the gloss black side strips where the bolts are once the dash top was off.

Like I say, only variable is that I have the 06MY so I have a speaker instead of the dash vents.

Yes lolo just been on powerful and has 2 videos on hoes to take the upper dash out.

Guess if I want to do a proper job I need to take it all out,

The air bag is easy enough. Just need the right tool to release the springs in each side of the airbag. They have a video for that too. I used a sturdy wire from my clothes horse, worked perfect..

Remember boys and girls - if you are playing near airbags - BATTERY DISCONNECTED and wait 5-10 minutes.
