Weird Transmission Failure Message (random)

Wotcha boys and girls.

I've had a random error message / set of flashing lights event happen twice in 6 months now and I'm wondering if any of you have had similar, or can make some suggestions about what might be causing it.

After a long run (couple of hours) I stopped to get some fags, got back in the car, and when I switched it on I had a series of messages in the binnacle telling me I had transmission failure, HDC something or other not working, terrain features switched off etc. If left it for about 15 minutes, locked and unlocked the car, and it went away. This has happened twice in about 6 months and it's really weird. The second time it happened it took about 20 minutes of switching the car on and off, locking unlocking, and then it cleared.

After both events the car drives/rides perfectly, no messages no errors. Here's a little pic of one of the messages I get...

I wondered if there was a known fault, something like a faulty sensor, or a battery sensor issue or something?

Anyway, really appreciate any input or suggestions you might have.

Bomber.

Not really sure what this error means, but shouldn't your car be in Hi range and not Lo? Especially for a long run, or maybe I am missing something?

Not absolutely certain, but once when i had this it was the abs sensor circuit. Do a search under abs sensor. All these (hdc, abs etc,) are all on the abs bus/circuit. Make sure there is no corrosion in your abs module in the engine compartment. It is a 2minute job to undo and look inside at the spikes. A clean with a wire brush and bit of electrical contact spray should help.

Yeah that's what happens when the car spazzes out, it just turns off all the terrain features, flashes all the lights, ride hide doesn't chance but the hi/lo thing flashes on and off. Fun!

Thanks though, - Ad augusta per angusta -
