I cannot turn off traffic announcements

I have turned off voice announcements for traffic conditions, both via the radio channel, and also on the TMC screen. However, when I have an active route selected, I still get random voice announcements. They are not the usual, for instance 'in 2 miles there is heavy traffic on the A40' but always the same message ' there is heavy traffic ahead' - nothing more, nothing less.

Does anyone else have this problem, and can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks,
