20" wheels were never factory fitted to the TD6 as they caused vibration at a standstill.

I have no idea how or why, but seems a well documented issue over the years.

Having bigger wheels on doesn’t cause the problem, it highlights it. There is vibration there as the driveshaft runs through the sump....the higher aspect ratio/bigger sidewalls on the tyres used on 18 inch wheels pretty much mask it. Land Rover never offered 19 or 20 inch wheels on a TD6.

I think in D....the vibration seems to feed itself, but hardly there when in N.

I had the same issue. Mine turned out to be an injector fault.

19” wheels were eventually approved for the TD6, but only with a revised engine management calibration to counteract the torsional vibration/oscillation issue.
