PC Feed - remove TV?

Hi guys,

I never use my TV in the car, without checking, could I simply replace its feed with a PC? I have a few small factor units that would fit easily, but not sure if there is a simple way to plumb it in - thinking of using bluetooth KB for control etc.

Anyone? Land Rover Addict

Would it not be easier to leave the TV unit in and feed the PC signal in as an AUX ?

Is there an AUX video input on a 2006 touch screen that doesn't involve removing the dash? Land Rover Addict

Can it not be added, like an additional loom bit or such like, same as the BMW system in mine ?

Not an expert, don't have a touchscreen, but would have thought it'd be easier, and still retain the original functionality, plus all the PC features.

The RSE must feed in somewhere.

In saying that though, its all a fibre system the MOST one isn't it ?

Yeah the MOST system takes a fibre feed from the TV tuner and sends it to the AMP and screen IIRC and in simple terms.

The only aux input is on the back of the screen and is used for the DVD input when you have RSE.

Sorry fella but i think removal is the only way with this one Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The picture feed from the tv or RSE to the touch screen is a coax lead .

There are 3 inputs on the back of the touch screen ... Tv / companion cam / reverse cam ... But unless there proper LR modules fitted ...you would have to access them via the diagnostic screen Bluetooth Exchange www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk

Couldn't he put an RCA switching box between the TV out and the connection to the rear of the monitor? Then leaving the TV tuner in place so as not to "upset" the ICE system select TV from the touch screen and switch the feed between TV and PC using the switching box????? Rolling Eyes

You would have to turn the sound down though or accept the tv channel audio as background noise whilst in PC mode Laughing
