No air from central row of dash vents - why?

Hi all

On occasion no air is being blown out of the central row of the dash vents, it blows onto the front screen and down to my feet but nothing from the vents that face into the car.

The air con is cold and the climate sensor works, adjusting the fan speed when I increase / decrease the cabin temperature but on occasion no air is coming from the centre vent, the top of dash vent and the 2 outer dash vents.

This happens even if I turn the system to manual, still no air.

I've noticed though that I have exited the car for a short time then on my return the system is perfect, lots of air from all vents.

Anyone know what's happening?

When I have it in auto mode, both lights in the auto button are lit, is that the best way?

Carl

Best to leave it on Auto I find. It often takes a few minutes to sort itself out, especially if there is a sudden temperature change.

I find if I manually select face vents it can take a minute to select it (whilst it purges the air apparently) and then the air comes out fine. Then if left on Auto it changes it to where its needed, according to its "map"

Cheers Dan, I don't think mines sorts itself out after a minute, I drove home from work today for over 30 minutes and the air still wasn't coming out of the face vents, its like its confused where the air is needed. Even if I press the manual override button the air still comes out of the front screen and footwell vents

I would guess it's the blend motor then. Really you need to get it plugged in and checked out.

2006 Range Rover Autobiography Supercharged Zambezi Silver

Just found this thread when looking for a fix for a new problem - i noticed today that I had no air coming from the centre vents, even when taking the controls off full automatic and selecting the centre vents - the same applied to the footwells even although the fan is working - air just seemed to be coming from the screen vents.

I switched the car off and then restarted it and all OK

This has happened several times now so I'm unsure what the issue is - anyone any ideas ? Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Either the engine temperature is not coming right up to the specified temp or the FSR is knackered

Engine temp is fine and the FSR must be OK as the fan is running OK and can be controlled by the fan speed controller OK...... Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Had the same problem last week, no air from the face vents, everything else ok.
Connected the RSW All Comms unit, cleared any faults and the face vents are now fully working.
Tends to suggest a fault was logged and stopped the vent function operating.
