So, if one were to purchase an '07-onwards FF and keep it for 3 years, the most reliable would be either of the TDV8 variants?

as with anywhere people will always make more noise when something isnt working rather than when it is but the later 3.6 TDV8's seem to be better with less issues.

DPF's can be deleted but only after a certain age have them anyway.
