I have had the same thing... It turned out that after I had replaced the lower control arms, I had not fully tightened up the bolt that goes through the large rubber bush. It was allowing the slightest of movement that transformed into a loud crack when it moved. Only happened in carparks and pulling out of drives etc, all low speed.

Re your comments on the ARB links, I noticed this too when removing/replacing them. One side (can't remember which now, I think RHS) required significant effort on the ARB to remove/fit the droplink, whilst the other side was easy peasy. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

That sound just like what mine is doing. Can you be more specific as to which bolt? 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

The big bolt that goes through the end of "number 9" that holds it onto the chassis. In my experience, every wobble, clunk and shake I have ever had has come from this arm/link. I replaced them, but the centre of the new bush was just slightly shorter than the old. When I tightened the bolt it was tight on the bracket but I had to make it tighter to bend the bracket in a bit to grip the bush.
Yours is probably slack or worn, I would tighten the bolt really tight before you try anything else. Thumbs Up

Ps.. I see you are a tuono man! I nearly bought one but went for the RSV.

Thanks. I'll take a look once I'm back from Poland.

Tuono man for sure. I had an RSV Factory before but found it too hard on my wrists. The Tuono Factory has all the good bits of the RSV without any of the drawbacks. 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

Whistle yes suncream. Was more when taking foot off of the brake and pulling off though. I have a similar issue to the op though and am ignoring it as it only happens at the extremes of lock. Personally i think it is the ns bottom ball joint with a little wear in it. Will get them to have a look as its due for a service soon. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Disconnect the steering rack track rod ends from the hub but leave them on the rack grab hold of the bit behind track rid end and push / pull if the steering joint moves in / out its the inner track rod ends that are bolted to the rack under the big boot that are shot i had to replace both mine

Just to confirm i am not on about the ones that bolt to the hub its the ones that bolt to the end of the rack under the black boot Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover

Well, I just got back from the specialist and it needs a new steering rack. Great. ฃ2.5k that's going to be.

If you do need a new steering rack then there are a few second hand on Ebay starting at ฃ250.
They are all P/N QEB000083 which I think will fit the SC but I've not been able to confirm. Wink

Are all the racks on the FFRR the same regardless of model year? I thought some had variable ratio steering and some didn't.
I'm going to try and source a used or re-manufactured rack. ฃ1700+vat is just bonkers for a new one. 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

I did. They didn't budge.
I might get a second opinion as others have suggested. Any recommendations for a place in the Berkshire sort of area? Rovertune are the guys who have diagnosed the rack by the way. I don't have any real reason to question their diagnosis but it's a shed load of cash. 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

But is that the same rack as on a 2006 SC? I can't seem to find anything definitive. 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE
