update, got into westie at 7.30am and low and behold a flat battery!!!

LR assist were called and couldn't come to me until 8.45am so number 3 son went to ECP and bought some jump leads...

westie jumped and we drove to the local LR dealer and bought a replacement battery...stuck that in the boot and off to the tunnel...we arrived there at 11.30 for a 12.20 departure.

luckily the westie has started first time since...

had a great drive from amien to versaille and then to our apartment in auxerre....thd temperature rose from 17 to 24 degrees making the walk around auxerre's old buildings very pleasant....

off to chamonix tomorrow....

in chamonix now with a balmy 26 degrees...

we are spending 3 nights here before ee go through the tunnel to milan stopping at aosta...

Looks to be a very enjoyable trip Stan.

If you plan to visit the centre of Milan (Duomo) etc. It might be worth looking out for a park and ride station that we stumbled across.
It was well signed from the main road and for 1Euro you got all day car parking plus a train journey (approx 10minutes) for the driver to Duomo Station which is directly outside the Cathedral. + 1extra Euro per passenger, so for 2 euro’s we got hassle free entry to the very heart of the City.
