Titanium Trim Piece replacement

Has anyone ever replaced the plastic titanium trim piece that runs between the fog lights under the front bumper on a 2010-2012 SC? Have ordered a new one for mine but can't see the snaps to remove the old one. Thx! Mike

As far as I know it's either some simple clips or adhesive. When your new one arrives you'll be able to see how it goes on, not rocket science I bet. Discovery 4 HSE

There are about 12 little 'tongues' that slot through the backing bumper, these have a tooth type end that holds the trim on, difficult to remove from the front, as Mick knows, but straightforward if you take the bumper off and release the tongues one by one, starting at one end.

Thank you! I don't think I will be removing the bumper but can you see then from underneath the car? Mike

I took my titanium silver one to replace it with a black one while the bumper was off.

Then this is easy(ish), pull tabs one by one.

I think you only change to do itin sity is to have the Rangie on a lift. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Removing the front bumper in that case is not very hard, I did it on my last one, its actually held on by about 10 screws. Discovery 4 HSE

Hi , sorry been away from laptop for a few days, I am pretty sure you can't get to the back of he trim piece...if
you don't remove the bumper, try easing it off slowly tab by tab.

Watch a video on taking Bumper Off really quite easy and ten minutes.

I assumed there would be a video like the one for the rear bumper.

Its held on by screws only Craig may be able to tell you exact location of each screw.... Whistle

If you have a friend to help you makes it easier , lying underneath the front of the car you will see where the rim of the splitter bar starts ……

So get two thin tipped flat headed screwdrivers … start at one end first when you prise out the first teeth (clip) press the splitter bar up at the same time whilst getting your friend to insert his screwdriver next to yours he keeps the pressure on the splitter bar open … you then move onto the next tooth (clip) and do the same prise the second one open by then the splitter bar will have made a bigger and easier gap for the two of you to work along tooth by tooth to prise off …..

Mind the splitter bar might break at some point in case you are hoping to keep it ….

PITA to do Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
