Did you manage to get it done wealy?

Got mine, just not sure which is the best place to start?

Anyone who's done able to give me a few pointers before I have a ham-fisted go at it.

On mine I started by opening up the battery tray and removing it along with the battery, then opened the spare key and working at the end without the release button, used a thin flat bladed screwdriver to start prising the two halves apart. Once you get it started workaround the key onto the top & bottom separate. Be careful of the metal insert which acts as the battery tray side retainer falling out. Take careful note of how all the bits are arranged and proceed to remove the two metal sides and the release button and spring. Reassembly is fiddly 1st go, so take your time and ensure everything is back in its rightful place before snapping the two new halves back together.

About 20-30 minutes at first attempt seems to be the norm so don't rush it, take your time and it is a pretty straightforward job.

Good luck Thumbs Up Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

Hello to all, first post here so thought I'd better make it something hopefully vaguely maybe useful ....... LR now do a Smart key refurb kit, part no LR052905 at the strangely cheap price of £4.48 each! Fitted mine this evening, first key takes 20 minutes to do, second one done in 2 minutes.

No excuses for tatty flappy smart keys now!!

Apologies if this is old news but I couldn't find a solution until I mentioned it to my local dealer who actually came up with something helpful. Thumbs Up

Did mine this lunchtime, first one took 10 mins, second was a breeze. Looks a million times better and appear to be different / better construction that looks like it will last longer.

Appreciate the heads up Flashhart!
