Recommended a Jack for home Garage /FFRR

Mornin' everyone. I'm looking for recommendations for a trolley jack for working on the FF> Nothing serious - hope not to be spending all of my time under it (Naive!)) But something suitable for wheels off for cleaning (Using axle stands of course). So many options on amazon etc. Any advice gratefully received as always

any minimum 3 ton weight limit jack will do, good place to look is machine mart or halfords.... ... - .- -.

I use a Clarke 3 Tonne lift from machine mart, pretty solid and heavy bit of kit, i'm sure others on here have the same 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Given the variety of jobs you will need:

A trolley jack 3 ton +
1-2 bottle jacks 3 ton +
Set Axle stands 3 ton +
1/2 or 1" ply sheets to stand axle stands on, possibly similar for jacks
Variety of blocks of wood (oak preferred )

Never work under the car with just a jack, or when in Off road mode. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

The "Quick Lift" versions are reported on DISCO3 to fail (twist IIRC) under a D3/4.

I have a BIG PROBLEM with Clarke products, they are cheaply made in China and the quality is not good and when it comes to lifting a heavy vehicle I would rather spend a bit more and get something substantial knowing it will be safe.

My 50 year old Epco 3 tonne trolley jack easily lifts FFRR clean off the ground without any problem.

Don't forget to use good quality axle stands once you have the vehicle raised, again the cheap ones are not up to the weight of the FFRR. I opted for a pair of Draper 12 tonne stands which are tall enough to fit under the back chassis therefore you don't have to worry about the stands sliding off the rear suspension.

If you're lucky enough to have a 4 post ramp in your garage you could always go for a air operated jacking beam, they have all the built in safety features and are perfect for working on suspension areas under the FFRR

@Martin; for the avoidance of doubt (mine) were you referring to the jack I posted with rapid lift as twisting on D3/D4?

Would be good for me to know as I'm planning a suspension job soon!
