I'm affraid smashing the window is the only solution I have... I'll choose the small one on rear door, my arm would be long enough to open the rear door from interior of the car. Confused

The problem is that it is not so easy to smash his own car in downtown Paris because first it is my car, and because someone would call the Police

Even though the key fob is not synchronized with the car is there any possibility the fob can be used to drive down the windows by holding down the un-lock button for 5-6 seconds? I don't hold out much hope but it must be worth a try.

I tried too... with no success Sad

Are you sure Craig? I am sure someone on this very forum (Joker?) prised the cover off the door handle and found that there was a keyhole there - and that it was just covered up?

I may have dreamed it though...

Isn't it the aftermarket cover he had on the driver door he had ?

Honestly can't remember - just seem to remember some discussions that both doors have locks on them, but the passenger one is covered (so that the same doors and handles can be used for left hand drive and right hand drive vehicles).

2010 onwards UK cars have them on the passenger side with a cover (like the sport/disco 3) the earlier FF's have them on the UK drivers door Thumbs Up

That's where you have seen/read this Thumbs Up

Then, there is no chance i'd find a key hole on the passenger door if I remove the cover ?

It seems that the problem is more important, I smashed the little window on the rear door to try opening the door with the interior handle, and nothing happen, it can't open the car, and I cant remember if the reason is that the children security is enabled or if it is not possible to open rear door when the car is lock.

I tried to push on the dashboard button, but nothing happen too... battery seems in correct condition as the warning bulbs switch on when I push on the warning button

I recall if this is the BMW key types then the doors are super locked on the key or the fob which disables the interior door handles and the dash button. If yours is a 2004 I thought there was a release in the upper rear tailgate but you would need to carefully wedge the tailgate to create a small gap to get to it and maybe pull the weatherstrip away slightly and use a hooked wire or suchlike. Someone may be able to post a link to a 2004 handbook as yours is in the car...?

Maybe less damaging to get in as once in you can use the key in the ignition and then the dash button should work with the car running. Only other alternative I could think of is to have the lock barrel removed and go Craig's route of manually turning the lock with a screwdriver but then you will need new locks for door and ignition I guess.

^^^ +1

If the car has been locked using the keyfob, none of the internal door handles, pop up buttons, door un-lock switch or the tailgate release button will operate to unlock the doors... just tried all the above options.
The emergency release for the tailgate cannot, to my knowledge, be operated from outside the car..... the release is on the wrong side of a piece of metal which makes it inaccessible.
Not very helpful I'm afraid. Big Cry
I do know you can get in these cars in this locked situation but to date I haven't quite fully worked it out.
You could try contacting kp on this forum by pm, I have a suspicion he might know.

Alternatively, somehow you have to get the key in the ignition and turn the ignition on.

I wonder if landrover power up an impact sensor which automatically unlocks the doors in an accident? Would not want to try it without some good wiring diagrams as would be very expensive if it fired all the airbags. I know ford had a problem with some of their cars being stolen by smacking the bonnet in the right place with a tennis ball & activating the sensor. Worse things happen at sea! Well thats what swmbo said when WRENS came to sea!!!

Well, to summarize:

- The car is super locked then I can't open it using the interior handles or dashboard button. Crying or Very sad
- I can't open the car with the key because the mechanism seems to be broken, Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
- I can't use remote keyfob because the key is not synchronized anymore Crying or Very sad
- I smashed the rear little window thinking that it would be enough to open the car but no. Crying or Very sad

The solution seems to start the car to release the super-lock then i have to enter the car, and it is not possible by the little window, meaning that the only solution or the cheaper one is to smashed the whole rear door window to enter the car, and change the two windows... Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry
