We have just purchased a 56 plate 4.4 V8 Vogue (it is with the dealer at the moment to have an issue with the 'check engine' light sorted out, but that is another story). SWMBO likes to play music from her MP3 player - I can find no mention of an aux input socket anywhere in the handbook - is there one fitted? if not, can I do a mod to fit one? if so, what do I need, does anything have to be re-programmed, and can I do the fitting myself?

Yes, the display is touch screen.

there might be a socket in the centre arm rest cubby..

Mine is a vogue with no rse and has one

If you have rse it will also have inputs for a games console There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

. . . Checked mine - (Vogue spec) - doesn't have an aux in - yet is a touchscreen dash.
I wonder if it was fitted as standard after TR was introduced ?

The 2004/5 Hybrid Touchscreen cars don't have it or a Reversing Camera. 2006MY onwards I think.

^ mmm . . . Mine's a 2006 MY Vogue car with touchscreen & reverse camera etc, but no aux in ?
Just a thought - and I'm no electrical expert - I wonder what is involved in OE wiring and whether it can be retrofitted ?

i think you were correct earlier on Paul when you said that the aux came in on the terrain response FF's as that was when the interior was changed..
