rear arch lip.

Well been waiting for a nice day and nothing to do on the house ( yea right if only!) I thought better sort out the lip on the rear arches, as others have done in the past, but in all honesty mine weren't too bad for a 11 year old!
Both sides rust killed treated and 2 coats of black satin paint, should last a bit now!
oh and yesterday, clear indicator lights repeaters fitted from hawke ....hmmm modern now Rolling with laughter

You need to put rubber protectors on the lip now.

Will happen again if you don't. The flimsy thing on the rear door isn't enough IMHO.

That looks more like the stuff you put on the edge of the door to stop you banging it on the wall......

The stuff from LR is only a few quid an is wide enough, and rubber with metal in it so it stays on well.

Meant for either a ssrr or freelander I think but works perfectly! Better option all round Thumbs Up dan can supply Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I got mine from the local dealer, as they had them in stock and I was driving past.

I'm sure I got 4 of them, for less than £5 each.

The longer ones are cheaper than the shorter ones. They were never fitted to the L322, which was obviously a big mistake.

I didn't want a join on the car, so got 4 and cut to length to suit.

Entire rear wheel arch lip covered now.

Very happy. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've had the plastic strip as above fitted for 3 years now and still no corrosion on the rear wheel arches. I applied a thick coating of grease to both sides of the lip before fitting the strip and then wiped the excess off. I remove the strip each year and clean and re-apply the grease. Seems to work. Thumbs Up
The plastic strip is the type used for protecting the edges of doors but works very well and unlike the LR product has no metal in it to corrode. Looks very professional fitted.
I also fitted the plastic strip to my daughters Freelander in place of the LR product that corroded and fell off.

Fine.........FINE.........you keep your plastic strips from a 1974 Mk3 Ford Cortina door edge and I shall take my "must be better as it says Land Rover on them" rubber strips and go and stand where someone loves me Rolling with laughter

To be fair, as long as its stops the rust and doesnt look an Censored fitted, job done.

The metal strip in the LR rubbers are supposed to help it keep its shape and stay in place, but having had mine on for a couple of years, I can't comment on long term metal strip corrosion issues.

Are the plastic ones wide enough ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Good. Glad we cleared that up....... Laughing

The door edging will be easier to trim to length, and if it's that cheap for a big loop of it you could find other uses for it.
