Im sure my FFRR had the final stage resistor done before I bought her last year, but mid way through a house move and the service history is buried under 30 boxes of clothes I never wear anymore so I cant check that just yet

Is there any way I can check to see if it was done, other than the reciepts in the folder? Can I physically look on the car? If so, what and where am I looking?

Having a battery drain problems and thought I'd start at the most common fault first (fingers crossed)

also, if the FSR has been upgraded, what are the chances of it failing/going wrong again and causing the drain issue again?

My FSR was the original one and lasted 9.5 years without problems until it failed 2 months ago

They only cost about £30-£35 for a genuine one so worth changing if you are in doubt

Final stage resistor which controls the heater. When they go faulty they can drain the battery and also give heater motor problems

Just out of interest does anyone know if there is a similar resistor on the 'classic' controlling the fan?
My heater fan will only work on full blast (number III) and not on II or I. I've always been under the impression that to change the fan on a classic is a dash out job so have never bothered but if it's just a resistor of some sort then maybe I'll investigate further. Regards

Got to fit a new battery this weekend or early next week, and also going to change the FSR to be sure its not that playing up, should I do the batt first, or the FSR while theres zilch power to the car? Or doesnt it really matter?

Just dont want anything going 'pop' on me
