Whilst fitting new rear calipers, discs and pads today the mechanic who fitted the fronts a few months ago, checked this out and said that the fronts were quite dusty and he blew air through them but could find nothing untoward... And I drive off, only for the intermittent squeak to return. Arghhh!

Bit more copper grease needed, probably...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Think you're maybe right there NMJ. He used his own grease when fitting the fronts. Next step is to have the front pads regreased!

Thumbs Up

The squealing is normally the pads resonating in the caliper. There is a bit of play obviously in the fitment of the pads to allow them to move, but basically they need well greasing, little dab on the pins too and this should cure the squeal.

Brembos are pretty reliable bits of kit and its unlikely that the calipers are at fault, hopefully just a matter of re greasing them properly and when the pads have bedded in fully then all should be well. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Well, yesterday and today, I removed the front wheels and simply cleaned visible parts such as the calipers, the smart dark grey Brembo hub face and the disc faces/ disc rim edges.

I actually used Tardis on a microfibre cloth, the slightgtest dab of Mr Muscle sprayed on a microfibre cloth and then washed the areas down with car shampoo dabbed on a damp microfibre sponge... And I also cleaned the inner rims of the alloys properly too Mr. Green

Dare, I say, since cleaning the components on the front passenger wheel side yesterday, no squeal, no noise... Sssh

Anyway, without removing the entire caliper I will also remove, clean off and and re grease the Brembo pads with a good helping of copper grease... If all that doesn't keep the squeal at bay, I'll get the calipers off too.

So far so good Thumbs Up
