Hard to tell poss 2-4 mm not much more and that's with car on ground you can feel movement but can't see where it's coming from.

Thinking wheel bearing . Could do with some one to look at it all the indies near me can't or won't look at it till mid sept any one not to far from Stockport want to have a look don't mind coming to you have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.

the vibration can be felt through the car not so much through the steering wheel although there is a slight feel.
the boss woman says its not like going over a cattle grid.

would a wheel bearing give this vibration ????? have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.

That's a difficult question, wheel bearings usually get worse when you turn one way or another....

You won't find play in anything unless you jack the wheel off the ground and let it hang free, then try a prybar against the balljoints or bushes

Make sure it's on axle stands before you get at it with a pry bar or you may pull it off the jack....

Did you have this vibration before you had the work done you mentioned in your first post?? Pete

Is the vibration through the steering wheel or through the car, i.e does the steering wheel shake or does your seat shake!!?? Pete

Have posted that above mainly through seat and floor now but originally through the steering wheel . Going to change bottom arm tomorrow for a known good one and see how that goes have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.

I know you have already had them done but get the wheels balanced again, I have had this more than once that they don't do them properly, if they don't get pulled up square on the machine then they will be wrong, take it somewhere else and ask them to check them without removing the weights that are on there and see how far they are out, anything over 20grams, ask them to re balance them. I find small independants tent to help more if you explain why....

Don't think the bottom arm would give your exact symptoms... But you never know!!!

Good luck Pete

hi Pete,

this is where we are up to now, around Feb./march this year noticed a quite bad vibration on long sweeping left hand turns at 55-65 mph with power on take foot of gas it went, didn't have time to sort it ,vibration through the steering wheel and floor

mot in June nothing mentioned apart advisory about ball joint on o/s front.

I had all lower arms on n/s done last year and all lower arms on o/s done after mot, still vibration on long left handers

had new tyres balanced all round vibration still on left handers

took for full geometry set up now vibration left, straight and right at 55-65 mph

vibration through the floor mainly now

also very slight play top of n/s wheel moves in towards car when pushed not by more than a couple of mm you get a thud can feel the thud but can hear it as well (sort of like fridge door shutting)

seams as though having geometry done has brought the vibration round from the left as once you take foot of gas it goes

really getting Censored off with it now

Yep.... that doesn't seem an easy one, think I'd just start replacing stuff as well.... just start with the cheapest...

Have the bottom arms been done properly and the bolts tightened up with the full weight of the car on them??

Check tyre pressures, engine, box, exhaust mounts....

Just trying to think of all the free things to try first... Pete

just found this on the net,

Along with a rumbling sound, bad wheel bearings may also make a vibration that can be felt in the car or in the steering wheel. This vibration may become worse at higher speeds, when turning or braking.

haven't got any rumbling noise as such but think poss the problem have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.

hi gang having sat and thought about it for a while ,now thinking cv joint and wheel bearing ,here's the reasoning behind it.
can here a slight clicking not loud though

early last year wheel bearing needed doing on n/s front a mate fitted a second hand hub ,I thought he had put a new bearing in it after a phone conversation last night transpires hi fitted new bearing to rear n/s

then on prepping for 2013 mot (June) noticed cv gator had split all round had that and n/s control arms replaced.

so as you can see both bearing and cv joint could be f£$%^&&ed

what do you think have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.
