Slow to pull off if left a cpl weeks

Hi

If on occasion I haven't driven the FF for say a week and a half, (I leave it in P with the parkbrake off in not using for a bit, cause my disco epb used to stick so got paranoid) when you first get in to pull off, the engine revs and initially it pulls away very slowly, after a couple of seconds it picks up and it drives fine.

No lack of acceleration, no lack of throatle response, no gear changing issues. Is that normal? Could it just be resistance from brakes for being parked up so long? Although you don't get the cracking sound of slightly corroded breaks coming free. 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

Hi, it might be the oil in your gearbox is draining into the sump during its long sit, it is just taking a short time to fill the system. I have noticed that if I try and pull away in a hurry from a cold start there is a delay before drive engages. But if I put it in gear and wait a few seconds all is good! maybe you need to slow down on the get away, I do Very Happy
I've found that selecting drive and then prodding the sat nav, or something of a similar delay produces instant throttle responce... 2 seconds can seam like an eternity when your rushing! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Thanks for the answer, that kinda makes sense, it certainly doesn't have any issues driving Thumbs Up

Yeah I should maybe consider leaving on time and not rushing, I usually do jump in fire up and go. I shall give it a try Thumbs Up 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

Might be lack of fluid my p38 used to do this but only if slightly low on oil might be worth a check

Could be the old sticky gearbox cable, taking a few secs to get into the drive position.......

Search on that and lube it up with a liberal application of grease/wd40. And all should be fine. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Rolling with laughter I'd need the bank job to pay for the repairs so it would be a never ending circle.

I would doubt it is low in fluid, unless you can see an obvious leak there is nowhere for the fluid to go. Be careful when checking the level it needs to be at the correct temperature to give the right level, if checked when cold it will appear low! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

There are definitely no leaks and it was serviced 5 months ago, full inspection service, pretty sure all fluid and oil checks were on the invoice too now that you mention it. 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts
