Fuel gauge indication wrong?

Hi Chaps , need your advice and help please.
Today I pull out 2012 4.4 tdv8 very quickly at the busy and very sharp junction, this junction is very sharp almost 180 degree and I turned very quick can feel the body roll significantly.
Before that I noticed the fuel has about 75% left and after the turn it shows about 25% left. I stopped and fuel up, the fuel pump automatically stopped after I filled in 30 liter and I checked the fuel gauge which shows 45%.
I think the fuel tank is full but the fuel guage only show 45%, what could be the problem?
Many thanks in advance
Regards
Henry.

In tank fuel sender/pump possibly, mine had a bit of an episode earlier in the year where it was inconsistent, the pump and the sender are in one unit for the 08my and possibly safe to assume that same for 2010->.

As it is a saddle type tank either side of the prop shaft, There are 2 level floats and the dash takes an average reading from the 2 to give level. If one has gone then it confuses the system.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Many thanks, is it a common fault or not so common?

Sounds like you've lost a float off the sender in the tank Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Not a really common problem, but a few have had trouble with fuel readings. Bit of a pain to get out. Ordered a pump unit of lrdirect and got dealer to fit it. Saved a few hundred squids. Would investigate further before splashing out though as the units aren't cheap.! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I would have thought so on the lr warranty, not really a wear and tear kinda problem.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
