High idle 900rpm

Guys Im after a bit of clarification on the old FF..

Few days ago after a longish drive, 50/60 miles, (no issues at all on the journey) when I parked up on the drive, next morning the 'trans fail safe' message came up, I didn't even start the FF just turned off and started up again, message went.
I got to work the message came back when turned off....
In a little break I cleared all faults with good old iid and nothing since.
Now I have read up about the transfer switch (potentiometer) can give problems, but it does go in low and back in high range no problem ( did it about 6/7 times at home to test it)

Trouble is its idling at 900 rpm, Im I right in saying the car has to 'learn' my driving or is it because of low battery?
Its charging fine at 13.8 with heater, heated seats and lights on, main beam.

The only new fault codes I can see is in the

ip instrument pack - 1 0x8d trans interface busfault
2 0xbd ebv function fault recived from ecu

tcm transmission - 1 0x30 gear switch fault general faults.

Thanks guys Thumbs Up If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

The ‘gear switch fault’ probably refers to the inhibitor switch i.e. the equivalent of a P0705 error on TestBook, particularly if the TRANS FAILSAFE PROG message pops up as a result of moving the gear lever.

Thanks Stan and Phil
I have read up on this, much info about when digging about Thumbs Up

I charged the battery ( I do now and then ) and found that it was fine anyhow!

The rpm is now down to where it should be after driving home this morning. Thumbs Up

Seems quite apt that some one else has issues with this switch on another forum ( its not me ) and some great pictures of the pesky thing too Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Bow down ( you know who you are on here, pictures say a thousand words Bow down )

@ Robert, I only wanted to know what the faults code mean as these where new when I checked the trans fault......they are no use to me either Laughing If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
