Rear Fog Lights

10MY 3.6tdv8

i have intermittent rear fog lights.

according to the handbook they are only meant to come on if the front fog lights are on (ign on and lights on too)

they sometimes come on regardless of the front fogs being on or off. (ign and lights on)

sometimes they dont come on at all (when the button is pushed) ign, & lights on

the indicator lamp on the dash for the rear fogs always comes on when the button is pushed regardless of whether or not the lights are actually on

i am guessing the switch may be at fault? or a bad connection somewhere.

is this a common fault or one people have come across before? Cheers

James

I would suspect switch. Is one of the fog light buttons loose? This happened on mine as the rear fog light almost felt it was going to fall off. I bought a new switch but flogged car before fitting. Mine was intermittent. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

it turns out to be the tow pack (after market fitted) disconnect the loom to the hitch connector and fog lights work as they should.

checking with autologic the fitters also neglected to tell the vehicle it had the tow electrics fitted.

i believe there is a fault with the fitting of the loom so will do some checking into it.

had not towed with it yet, so hadn't checked they worked! Cheers

James
