Just an update. Had all mine done. Diff, transfer box and gearbox. £750 plus VAT from Beadles for the whole lot. Including new pan.
Is interesting to note that although I had mine done at 4 years old, with only 30k miles, I can tell a difference from the gearbox. Noticeably the speed at which it changes down when going up hill. Day by day you don't notice how the gearbox gets more sluggish.....
😄

Workshop Manuals - Diff Draining & Filling Procedures

Found this information from the LR Workshop Manuals as accessed via the Forum Wiki:

Various L322 model year and engine variants are specified:

http://workshop-manuals.com/landrover/

After accessing the above link, the following process should allow you to arrive at the procedure for your particular car, eg this example is for the '... 4.2L SC (2006)'

1. Look at the blue coloured hyperlink menus to the left margin of your screen.

2. Select the blue hyperlink option that says "Maintenance".

3. Then select the blue hyperlink option that says "Fluids".

4. Then select the blue hyperlink option that says "Fluid - Differential".

5. You should then arrive at information to enable you to determine the filling/ refill and oil specifications, for your model of L322. Certainly in the case of the 4.2SC it also outlines the draining and filling procedure for your model of car. All over 3 pages of information and as pictured below:

Hope this is of some assistance.

Thumbs Up

Just ordered oil to change the rear diff oil on the 4.2SC fitted with ETM Rear Diff:
Rear Diff oil for this car is Castrol SAF Carbon Mod Plus

Ordered from Dan @ Duckworths for £24/1L plus £5 next day delivery.

Front Diff shouldn't need to be done yet as a new Diff was only put on 16 months ago and the car hasn't even covered 20K miles since then.

Thumbs Up

Take previous post as a typo Mark.

I'm ordering the amount specified for filling the ETM Rear Diff according to the workshop manual which is approx 1.5 litres. Hopefully, by also measuring what oil drains out, that amount should be in keeping with the amount specified in the manual.

Point of my update was to highlight that next day delivery can be had from site sponsor Duckworth's, safe in the knowledge it will be the correct oil because they ask for your chassis number, input it into the LR parts computer and can then accurately determine the type of Diff you have and supply you with the correct Diff oil (obviously a telephone call to any Franchised LR dealership's parts Dept should get you this information too but for £5 next day delivered from a trusted forum supplier, it simplifies things).

Thumbs Up

Don't always take the measurement of what comes out as correct sir... Good to check but, often they are low Rolling Eyes

Well land rover Glasgow are completely useless Mad phoned them today to check if i have the locking diff or not they told me that my car does have it. although don't know why i bothered as i don't believe a thing they say anymore. so crawled under the car and got a good look and saw a wire sticking out the top and thought hmm they must be right.

still unsure i took some photos and been going through google ebay etc looking at images of diffs and have come to the conclusion it is NOT a locking diff as they seem to have a plug into the diff and a cylinder shaped thing on top of the diff. Mine just has one cable running into it.

Anyway i will phone dan tomorrow and get him to check although I'm 99% sure and then get the oil ordered

this is the only cable running into the diff Range Rover Vogue 2006 4.4 AJV8 | Buckingham Blue | Parchment Leather | Supercharged Grill+Side Vents | CA02 HEY ( NOT 02 PLATE )
