Craig, the magnetic part of the drain plug (both filler and drain plug faces actually were/ seemed) surprisingly clean, although the threads needed a clean.

Its amazing how the rear diff oil degrades isn't it ![]() The colour will be down to the internals of your diff rusting due to water ingress (i suspect condensation) then its only a matter of time before A, the bearings give up! and the rust makes the driveshaft seals blow! Good job you caught it when you did sir ![]() |

Craig, would you hope that this oil change (plus future 30k mile changes) should 'save the diff' if the brown coloured oil might be indicative of condensation build up rust that could lead to failed bearings and driveshaft seals? Thanks. |
