detailer from the contractor is going to give me a date, told him im not waiting weeks and i threatend to take legal action againts them. so he said he will come one evening soon and let me know when tomorrow..

its a nightmare round here, i live in a very small rural village and they have pretty much attacked the few surrounding roads we have so it cant be avoided until the surface becomes sound. Its like driving on marbles.

watch this space...

Probably a good case for fitting rear mudflaps, the fronts obviously did their job.

Only just seen the mention of diesel, that will definitely dissolve it!

Nope, but it will damage your skin if you don't wear rubber (PVC) gloves when you do it.

Plenty of cars have diesel leaks and the plastic doesn't fall apart or the paint fall off. Once you've got the tar off with Diesel, wash it down and put some fresh polish back on the paint, as the Diesel will likely strip off any wax polish that's on there.

I think you'd be best slapping in on there with a paint brush, as it'll be kinder on the paint than rubbing it with a cloth

Think I'd get a small garden sprayer, you know the 99p things that you can also get WD40 in, and use that. You could probably wash most of it away using that method, I wouldn't recommend trying to rub it off as you'll probably spread it more, oh and put some news paper down to soak up the drips. Recon that a light mist and wait will soften it and a second squirt would shift it Thumbs Up

Scrub that, get the biggest sprayer that you can find and park on the road where it happened, apply large amounts of diesel to the problem areas and try not to laugh too much when doing Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

A pack of those will probably be better than newspaper. (and they're cheaper than the oil spilage pads)

You lot not herd of kitty litter? way cheaper and just the same as the granules they sell for oil leaks. I still think that giving the tarmac back to the road builders is the best way Twisted Evil Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

yep or sawdust also works well. But those absorbent pads will make the driveway a bit safer!

You might want to wear a mask too, diesel fumes smell awful, to the point you get the taste in your mouth for hours.

Actually thinking about this the best way to save the driveway is to just put the kitty litter tray under the area to be cleaned and go for it, but remove Tiddles from the tray before you start, otherwise you will have a moggy with the right hump Shocked Laughing Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
