All you should need to do is fully tilt the sunroof and keep your finger on the button for about 30 seconds or until you hear a clunk.

Close the sunroof. Slide the sunroof fully open then close t. Job done.

If yours doesn't sit flush at that point then you'll need to reposition the brackets.

Hi folks, noticed the rear of my sunroof was down 4-5 mm from the roofline, I performed the “reset” as per this thread, placing the roof in the tilt position and then continue to hold the button until the clicks are heard, worked a treat. Thank you to all the guru’s on here who have helped me correct all the minor issues I’ve ever had with this great car. Thank you 👍

Thank you FFRR forum.
It really bugged me that my sunroof didn't fully close, but just spent a happy minute following the above tutorial and - it now sits flush with the roofline!
Anyone know if the same can be done with a 2007 Freelander 2 whose sunroof currently will not work 'one touch' making getting the roof to close at the right point a right pain?

It's a very simple but very satisfying fix, isn't it?

I’ve joined the many on here who have derived great satisfaction from doing this reset and having a nice flush sunroof. Thanks again for the forum knowledge. Current: Range Rover L322 4.4tdv8, Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2, BMW 535d Touring, Skoda Fabia, BMW S1000XR

Since disconnecting my battery my sunroof won't go to the tilt position to do this procedure.
Anybody shed any light please?
Thanks Kev.

Just bringing this to the top of the pile. Have a look at your sunroof and if it sits a bit low at the back just use this simple reset procedure.

Tilt roof up and hold button until you hear a clunk (about 30 secs) RR L322 TDV8 4.4 SE 2019 to present

Just randomly glanced at the car whilst I was putting stuff in the outside bin… sunroof looked a bit low at the rear. Had a bit of wind noise on motorway trips recently that wasn’t there before, did the reset and it’s all back flush again. I remembered there was a procedure but couldn’t remember if it was hold up or forward. The up to the tilt position and hold did the trick. Then just fully open then close the roof.

I tried it initially stood on the side steps with the door open… ignition on, and I didn’t get the clunk, so maybe door need to be shut. Hopefully wind noise is gone now.

Had this when I first got the car 20months ago and it was an easy fix. Never operated the sunroof since for fear of it not closing again……. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Amazing!

Picked my l322 up a few weeks ago and was wondering why it sounded like it was blowing a gale through the sunroof! Could only stop it by closing the blind.

Saw this thread and went out this morning and saw that my sunroof too had dropped slightly at the back. Tried this fix, went on the motorway and hey presto! Problem solved!!

Thank you all

Amazing 🤩
