405 is now 15 months old and has headlight condensation both sides.

Offside one third all across full length at bottom and nearside one quarter halfway across bottom.

Never pressure washed

In now looks as if some new bacteria is taking over in there. (Could be the one medical science is looking for to combat super bugs?)

Anyway, my post is asking why the xenon's heat does not dissipate the moisture.

Additionally, as LED's produce almost no heat and will be fitted to 405's soon, how will the headlight binnacle free itself of moisture ingress? New Discovery also?

Will be off to dealers who will probably say, 'it's ok, they all do it!!!'

Never mind binnacle's, you'll soon have barnacle's  If it ain't broken, fix it till it is.

Thanks Stan. Thing is, my car is nearly 3 years old and it has only started doing this in the last couple of months. If it happened from new their disclaimer would makes sense  2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel
2006 Range Rover Vogue V8 Diesel - gone

Mine has condensation on both sides. I have sent pictures to the dealer and the lights will be checked at the next service later this month. They told me that depending on severity this might be the subject of a warranty claim, in which case the light units would be replaced. I had not remembered the handbook comment, but the lights do seem to work normally. Like Jase71 mine seems to have started doing it recently rather than from new, though it is possible that i have just not noticed earlier.

The condensation appears when the lights are on, and disappears again when they are off. An earlier thread on here said that the heat from the lights opens the seal on the light unit and it then closes again when the lights are off. I don't know whether that is the reason. I'll try to remember to update this after the service. Only Range Rovers since 1988

could bd a batch if faulty 2017 headlight units? ... - .- -.

Remember this is the wettest period (certainly that i can remember!)

All of the lights (certainly the plastic lensed ones) on all of our cars are misting on and off at present!!! Even the lights on my FF which are less than a month old!

I'd say your right Craig, I live on a farm and have recently seen water standing In places I've never seen before. That said, I'd have thought the headlights should be effectively sealed. I don't recall seeing this problem on sealed beam units of cars made donkeys years ago.

Take an interest also in the internal condensation on the windows as the weather is at the moment! Ill bet you they are excessively misting up too! Im sure its just normal for this weather "which is abnormal!" folks...

No window condensation for me. In my case at least it does seem light specific. Only Range Rovers since 1988

That's very useful. Mine seem to get condensation only after running with the lights on for some time, say 50 miles, which is counterintuitive as one would expect the heat from the lights to dry them off, and also inconsistent with LR's narrative. The pictures I have sent to the dealer (both sides) have the drip streaks shown in one of the pictures in the LR instructions, but i have not seen standing water inside the lights. I'll report what they say. Only Range Rovers since 1988
