brembo caliper leaking

Just replaced all the brake line on my FF. Thought I had it all sorted with no leaks, but noticed on my way home from work the brake pedal would slowly drop to the floor. I can see brake fluid on the front passenger wheel.

Noticed when I was bleeding the brakes the front passenger inner bleed nipple was really stiff and had to work it a bit with release oil to get it moving. Felt I had to do it up a bit tighter than I would have liked at the time.

I know I can tighten it up a bit more, but I am now worried the tread is stripped due to it being an alloy calliper.

Choices are
1. Tighten it an hope I can stop the leak without stripping the thread.
2. remove bleed nipple and check for something stopping the nipple sealing, but it is really tight and thread may be knackered

What do we think is best 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Could you put a new nipple on , atleast you'll know that bit is good and then go from there onto no6 Range Rover

I use teflon tape on mine, prevents leaks and is easier to loosen later.

one of my concerns at the moment is will the tread strip when I try to take the bleed nipple out. so new bleed nipple may not be an option

Fluid is coming from centre of the nipple and not round the sides. Not keen on Teflon tape on brakes anyway 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Unfortunately right now you only have the one option. Just tighten it very softly and slowly while someone is depressing the brake pedal and use a spanner not a socket.....

Sorry can't be of any more help... ______________________________

You are probably correct 'UK Marine' I am hoping someone comes up with a magic solution as I know if I strip the threads I will probably end up with more problems as the calliper bolts will probably strip as well 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

In case anyone has a similar issue in the future. I removed the leaking bleed nipple today and there was plenty aluminium welded to the treads and the bore was stripped smooth of treads.

Calliper came off easily so I am going to drop it into a local machine shop to see if they can fix it with either an oversize thread bleed nipple or something. 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
