I am new to the 4.4 TDV8.Had the car since May 2017.Have done 6500kms of which 4600 is on a recent trip towing the offroad van.Car sits on 96500kms.Oil consumption went from just below full to half full.Is this normal?My D3 used NO oil.
The car has LR MP till end July.There is oil on a pipe coming out of the passenger side turbo.Think it is the boost pipe.Is this normal?The car doesn't smoke under acceleration.

I don't need to put any in mine between services. Check your coolant in case your oil cooler is cracked and the oil is now in the coolant....common issue.....

The oil cooler is really a heat exchanger with the coolant. Just a thought....

Mine has never needed to be topped up between services (about 50,000 miles now). The electronic level display shows whole divisions and may therefore exaggerate the drop compared with a dipstick and I have found it very sensitive to whether the car is level, and also the temperature of the oil, slight variations can make quite a big difference to what is shown on screen. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I want my oil level to be in the middle or one notch up, when engine is cold , so when the engine is at operating temperature oil level is going to be at the full or one notch below. when checking oil level of hot engine wait for 15-20 sec. for sensor to stabilise.

You have this spot on Fella - a lot of folk fill their engine to nearly the max when doing a oil renew.

This is a big mistake as oil will expand when it gets hot and this will cause stress on components and engine failure.

A380 power units are primed at 60% capacity - and are throttled back to 80% at max thrust with 75,000 HP per power plant on tap:

acceleration is very similar to the Rangie on full throttle - just pant your foot down on the motorway and dont take the gas off
