It is just the sort of preventative maintenance job that I really enjoy doing.
Not too complicated and I can sit down and take my time., knowing that it will help keep my car in tip top condition. Thumbs Up

It was Thomas Cook flight this year, but we usually use Jet2 .
We were very lucky to get away on time because Manchester was closed for a few hours the following day whilst they cleared the runway and de-iced the planes.
Beautiful here at the moment though, 24c and unusually, virtually no wind.😎😎
Cheers Emirates 👍
Mike.

Also missing (from the video) was the process to release, and keep released, the EPB.

The 07-10 manual says something about needing to "drive the parking brake to the mounting position".

What is the safe process for the DIYer with an iiDTool ? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Just two things on the video. Need to use axle stands for safety & I wouldn't use a sharp object on the caliper seals, as this could tear a seal Whistle

Nice to hear that you having good weather in the canaries. We usually travel out Nov / Dec & were considering Jan / Feb, but thought they would be a little chilly (24 C is very pleasant).

At least the break gives you plenty of time to read up on this. Thumbs Up

Had a sticking rear n/s caliper and rebuilt last weekend. Ordered a new piston and seal kit from Brakeparts.co.uk, good quality and reasonably priced. Had to force the piston out with servo assistance as it seemed to very tight. The piston had rust inside the caliper, so i'm thinking the brake fluid was not changed as the main dealer stamps suggest. Rear discs not in the best of condition and have been on the list for replacement. However, after refit and test drive i now have a shiny n/s disc, the caliper can't have been exerting that much force on the disc. Although not binding i suspect the o/s requires a rebuild also. Sorry i didn't take pictures, but there was snow on the ground and i had cold hands. Will take pictures of the o/s when i do that one.
