I sat for most of the way on 150km and a little over on some bits and slowed for all the cameras that I know of but agree on the way down I tried to stick to the speed limit and it was hard work

You can be flashed but no fine. The camera will work over the speed limit but the calculation allows for possible inaccuracy in it. That is why you sometimes get fined for apparently being one kph over the limit when in fact it was actually more.

You might be lucky. Fingers crossed.

There's a LOT of information here: https://www.linternaute.fr/auto/guide-prat...ts-perdus/

Scroll down to types of camera. Even using drones. Shocked John

My first post above re possible no fine, Stan.

For the rest Google Translate is adequate for the purpose:

For all models of radars used in fixed positions, the tolerance is identical that the radar is installed in a cabin at the roadside (MESTA 210C, MESTA FUSION, MESTA 5000 SMART, PARIFEX FALCO, PARIFEX LYNX, VITRONIC POLISCAN), embedded in a vehicle or placed on a tripod (MESTA 210C) but also in the hands of a police officer or a policeman (ULTRALYTE, PROLASER 4, TruSpeed SE).

When the measured speed is below 100 km / h, the tolerance is 5 km / h.

For example, if you are controlled with a measured speed of 88 km / h, the selected speed will be 83 km / h since we deduce 5 km / h.

When the measured speed is above 100 km / h, the tolerance is 5%.

For example, if you are controlled with a measured speed of 157 km / h, the speed will be 149 km / h since you have to deduct 5% of 157 km / h or 8 km / h.

Tolerance table for fixed speed radars
Speed limit Tolerance PV from
(Measured speed)
(Speed retained)
50 km / h 5 km / h 56 km / h 51 km / h
60 km / h 5 km / h 66 km / h 61 km / h
70 km / h 5 km / h 76 km / h 71 km / h
80 km / h 5 km / h 86 km / h 81 km / h
90 km / h 5 km / h 96 km / h 91 km / h
100 km / h 5 km / h 106 km / h 101 km / h
110 km / h 6 km / h 117 km / h 111 km / h
120 km / h 6 km / h 127 km / h 121 km / h John

sounds awful, but it can only cost you money, Stan. Living in France with a French drivers lic. means you loose your points (and one starts with 12) ten km to fast means minus 3 points. Reaching 4 points left on your license means an obligation of following a ridiculous "safety" course that not only costs you 175 euro but also 3 days. Loosing all your points by driving with alcohol over 0.3% (minus 6 points) costs 1500 euro and 50 km to fast you loose your license, so no insurance and no car... So better stay on The Island Very Happy

Congratulations Alistair.. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

just booked my next years trip to the Alps. I shall be driving to the speed limits, always have Rolling with laughter

I have the safety zones on my tom tom, but on the auto routes I tend to stick to the limits now in any case. Bung it on cruise at 130 and sit back and relax.

put on an Audio book, and listen to the story. I find it passes the time much faster than a dose of music.

Kids in the back engrossed in their iPhones/Ipads

Reminds me I must get a replacement sanef toll tag. My battery is a bit low. ----- done, dead easy. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
