Did mine a few weekends ago, nearside a wee bit easier, it’s tight, but patience is key, the lever in the light was really stiff too.

I think I'll give them a go - got to be better than what is currently fitted.....!

Those globes are 35W. My L322 has 50W globes but I don't know what is fitted to the L405.

I've now fitted the Osram Xenarc Night Breaker Laser D3S bulbs, and they are far superior to the OEM bulbs. Still not as good as the Xenons I had in my L322, but at least I can now see where I am going

Aah, thanks for the update.

Looks like it will be a project for next year now as i head back to work this weekend and won’t be back until Christmas eve.
Give me time to source a spare grille though.

So i fitted a set of the osram night breakers and they are definitely an improvement on the standard bulbs.
Still looking at fitting a set of LED driving lamps in the grille though as there are still dark areas in the headlight pattern on the country roads i drive on.

I’m sure the mechanic in your profile can assist.... Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I bought the ones in the Amazon link above and they are brighter. It's not night and day but they are brighter.

In my case though the lens is a bit cloudy so I'm not getting the full benefit.

In terms of difficulty, it's not hard. You have to unplug the MAF sensors with the red tabs (super-easy) and be prepared to cut a few cable ties to allow the airboxes room to move out the way and you'll need to undo some of the RHS ducting to get access to the place where the back of the bulb sits. That's jubilee clip stuff. LHS was OK though.

There's lever that secures the bulb in place that needs shifting up or down (I can't remember) and the little electrical connector to the bulb is a bit fiddly.

Take it calmly though and you can do both sides comfortably in an hour.

Take a pic on your phone first if it puts your mind at rest.
