Does the reverse cam turn on via relay

Hi all - trying to find a problem with my aftermarket stereo retrofit - with the original gear it worked now it doesn’t - looking at the wiring diagram it implies a relay is triggered to power it up but it’s very vague s is this the case and could I just feed this relay from a revere light ? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

The camera power can be supplied directly from the reversing lights or via a relay (best practice)

AFAIK the original infotainment systems required a "negative trigger" in the boot which does require a relay.

These are the arrangements on my 2003 L322

Some aftermarket infotainment systems require a positive trigger & video feed at the head unit. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Interesting as I have the 05+ unit I wonder if it’s still negative... Current stable:

AFAIK the camera is always on

There's a power trigger that causes the monitor to display it - and that's a very low current so wouldn't need a relay

That's how my other cars worked - I've not ventured into the exact mechanism in the RR but assume its the same

The "BMW" cars need a negative trigger in the boot if using the original set up. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6
