Low battery warning but which battery?

Folks,

Been getting the low battery warning last couple of weeks. No surprise since of course the car is hardly being used. But I have had it on a trickle charger so I am actually surprised.
But my question is this. When you get this message on the dashboard, how do you know which battery is the one that’s low?
Is it the main battery (under the spare wheel) or is the accessory battery inside the rear wing?

Or.... is the error message agnostic of which battery. In other words, it just sees a combine low voltage over both and it’s down to good old detective work to work out which battery is tired and duff?

Orrrrrr. Final option. Is the battery actually charged (by the trickle charger) but the BMS doesn’t recognise it?

Thanks.

Disconnect the batteries and test each one, over 12.5v and the battery should be ok, bellow, charge for 24hrs and retest after being left for an hour or so off the charger.

If the batteries are not connect to each other then you might be able to test both in place and connected?

Have you checked the car is charging properly?

Thanks.

My post really was more about questioning the cars system of operation rather than how to manually test batteries.

Thanks again.

Had the same and it was the main battery.

Turned out the Blackvue Dashcam was the problem. Turned the Parking mode off on the Dashcam even though I had a Power Magic Pro wired in which is supposed to save battery. It's a known problem Censored Whistle All LR cars from 1984

I've replaced both on mine within the last few months and it still shows low battery after three or four short journeys. Turns out both of the old batteries are still good and holding charge so they've been put to other uses which is fine in my case, but not so good otherwise. A voltage test seems to be the first port of call.

Yes Stan, in both instances re-set by professional mechanics. I do wonder whether the message appears on the basis of journey duration because as said, the old batteries are fine, and the new batteries should be as well.

No Craig.
but it will 24 hours later after being on charged even if the car wasn't driven. So either one of the batteries is goosed or there is quiescent drain somewhere.

The main battery is 2.5 years old. No idea how old the ancillary battery is.

If the main batt is only that old then you wouldn’t expect it to be goosed.

What battery is it? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

So, does it go through a charging cycle? Does it get to the end of charging and tell you it’s charged? And then tell you 24hrs later it’s low?
