Sill repair/fabrication in beds/herts/essex ?

Hey

Age old story really, non avaliable panels. Tried rimmerbrothers, britpart, asked around local body shop etc. They recommend to find a L322 for breaking and ask for the sill to be cut out.
Troule is, onces I've contacted to far, those sills are finished too.

Both the outers and inner sills have rotted on mine, i've seen you can get replacement inner pannels but not outer.

I knew they were bad and assumed I could get a replacement panel, little did I know this was not the case.

Can anyone recommend someone who would be able to fabricate repairing of my sills and sort ouf the rust on the arches ?

It doesnt have to be perfect just so its presentable and will look ok once painted + MOT passable.

That's unbelievable! What age is your car?

I can't help regards panels, but you maybe need to find an old school panel beater type person, maybe try some classic car resto places as they will be used to making panels.

Got mine done at my trusty Bodyshop, they are just that, a body shop, they don't simply replace parts, they cut, weld, form etc.
Not in your area unfortunately.
The alternative would be to contact breakers in Spain, south of France, Italy (but away from the shores) and see if their's un better condition since they don't use salt on the roads and weather br is 'it' better. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I've emailed YRM Metal Solutions and linked this thread. They make lots of repair panels. They'd make some good business with a sill and arch repair panel for the L322 Thumbs Up 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
New Defender D300 90 on order so "Rory" will be going to a new home....!

Sorry to say I'd question the worth of repairing that car. The repair cost to do it properly would near to its value. Newer TDV8s are now getting cheaper and cheaper, but then there's nothing to guarantee it too would not be at an early stage of the same problem.

In the BMW E30 world , they are prone to rust in the front sill/bulkhead area, so the idea of cutting spares from a dry climate car is a good one. I know of several people who got the sections cut from BMW cars in California and shipped over.

wow mazza, that's a lot worse than mine, are you towing craft in and out of the sea ( on the Essex coast ) by chance ?

I thought YRM only did RR Classic and LSE - but L322 sills and other parts would be fab

it would be great though if they could be urged to make a run of L322 sills, the demand would be there I reckon


just looked at mine, and they are not as bad as mazza's, but it surely is a really badly designed part of the car, I think mine will need doing soon, just to stop things getting worse down there

I'd be in the market for a set of these as repair panels. My car isn't quite as bad but at the stage of needing repairs. I've bought some material to fabricate panels but if some professionally made ones become available it would be a better option.
