England 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

Fitted the dog guard that I bought from diesel Dave...took 5 minutes, a lot easier than my D2!

Towed the caravan with it today for the first time. Wow, what a terrific tow car. So effortless.
I'm sure you're not supposed to accelerate up hill from 50 to 70 with nearly 2 tons of caravan on the back! Had to back off sharpish when I realised I'd exceeded my towing speed!

Gave it a wash and continued the dechroming exercise. Just the grille and side vents left now.

Having bought the dashcam before I'd bought the car I thought I'd better get around to fitting it!

Hardest part was getting the passenger side end trim off so that I could route the cables into the fuse box.

Well, it's got private plates on now (my initials and my date of birth), the chrome grille has gone as have the side vents (both for sale).

Yes, it needs a clean. It's on the list.

It's a TowTrust detachable towbar.

Despite living a mile away from the company I had to go all the way to Rotherham to get one fitted!

TowTrust have got the manufacturer contracts to fit towbars to Land Rovers/Range Rovers, Vauxhall, Ford and some others so they're expanding massively. As a result they haven't got a workshop at the moment.

I have a Coachman Laser 650 which weighs 1.9 tonnes laden and it's been towed about 2 thousand miles with that towbar with no issues.

In my opinion I think you've gone too far with also making the taillights black. Its funny but that little touch has changed it for me from a classy motor to a clearly modified car.

But as long as you like it, that is all that matters...

I ummed and ahhd about it but came down in favour of fitting them.

It'd be a boring world if we all liked the same things.

I like the monochromatic effect.

I fitted the spare wheel removal kit today. Having to take the spare wheel out to do so made me realise how much it was needed!

Hiya, Nice looking motor!
Out of interest, do those wind deflectors cut down on wind noise in the cabin at all? The only real bit of wind noise I get in mine is right in the top corners of the windscreen so wondered if they would help at all?

Thanks for an entertaining post. It's always nice to see progress folks are making. Very Happy FFRR 4.2SC/KTM 990SMT Current and cherished.

I can't say I noticed much difference. They don't seem to have increased the wind noise but I haven't noticed any significant reduction either.
