United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

I have just ordered a set of these for my mate he has the same issue me both arches rotten I am a bit gutted as mine are being done at minute and these panels would of been ideal as bodyshop have had to cut out rot and re fabricate new arches. Postage was free also which was a bonus I will give some feedback once his bodyshop starts the job. Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 SVO Stying Pack

This is my worst arch:

The coating is not great, so if not being used straight away will need some additional protection. Clearly, if being used, the black coating will be removed anyway!

Hi Rob,

Sorry but the pics aren’t great and my eyes ain’t what they used to be - how far down to the sill area does the new panel extend? It looks as if it almost reaches it us that right?

Operator incompetence! I've fixed it now! Apologies!

The green line shows the end of the and where it gets to on the car:

Thanks Rob that’s further than I thought they would reach. That confirms my theory that I would have to buy two in order to get the repair to top of sill level. From what I’ve seen on videos the sill isn’t too bad to fabricate and way better than having to create the profile for these replacement panels.

Thanks for the pictures Rob. ______________________________

Where are we upto now?

Well it seems it was inevitable reading this thread but it was a big surprise when I put my thumb through what I thought was a paint bubble. The rot is both sides too. Scary stuff so I have dutifully read the threads on here and it was encouraging that there was a solution in the offing, new panels to stitch in but the trail goes quiet. I don't want to scrap the best car, the most all round competent car I have ever owned

Am I missing a thread on this OR is there a panel manufacturer that has a solution now, that has a panel which fits the arch to the sill?

Still not answering the main issue all these panels only go so far the connection to the cill is where the thread dries up. Panel manufacturers leave us short. If you look at the line and length these panels even if your cill is good there is a gap.....the cill element is not catered for that well.

yes, an extra 11cm would do it, it means having to buy 2 rear wheel arches, and cutting 11cm off to reach the sill area.

If 4 of us do this, then the cost could be split 4 ways, basically cut the 44cm off and cut into 4 pieces ( 11cm each) as shown on my crude picture

Way back in this thread wiser men than me have suggested getting a quarter panel and cill from a scrapper.

Just by coincidence the other week a local bodyshop had a L322 in for exactly this repair he unwisely gave a fixed price and got his unjust reward as the replacement panel was on the floor he showed me that as was well short. He was having to use a cill + replacement panel + roll out the gap bit (panel beat) his job cost was well above his fixed price and he was bleeding money. We thought panel beating was dead and gone.

He won't touch one again!
