Roof bars

Looking for roof bars for my L322 59 Reg. Don't want to install roof rails and don't really want to use the feet back that clamps under the door frame.
Are there any with foot packs that screw in to the rail holes?

There are, they are called sports bars. I had a set for my full fat, they worked very well Thumbs Up

They looks like these on eBay, but obviously you will need a Full Fat version (these are RR Sport specific)

They are however like hens teeth.

You flip up the little covers on the Rails and remove the grub screws. They then screw down to the roof with an security torx screw.

Work well, I did have a set for my 322 but sold them to Haylands.... if you find a pair, then be careful not to break the little covers on the roof trim, they can’t be bought separately, and require removing the entire trim To replace...! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I am looking for the same but can't find any.

Does anyone know if Thule (or similar) do a set that would fit with no rails?

Thanks
James

Don’t even know if the sports bars are available to order from LR. I would doubt it but might be worth giving duckworthparts a shout. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

This thread suggests they may not be ideal.....

Agree they are not ideal but only for occasional use. A mate of mine used one for years for surf boards and rated it. I’d likely only be using it for an inflatable paddle board and short journeys so should suit my needs. FFRR 4.2SC/KTM 990SMT Current and cherished.

I need bars for a roof box, so don't think they will work, but thanks for the heads up

Is the solution not built in with an inflatable paddle board. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Should still keep the majority of roof/item contact to a minimum, and easier to put a non-slip grip mat under the inflatable rack. Hopefully that would minimise any paint damage, and strapping down becomes easier with the built in d-rings too. FFRR 4.2SC/KTM 990SMT Current and cherished.

I've been trying to figure out a safe solution that can handle a load up to 150 pounds. Is this stuff structurally strong enough if it was attached at all three mounting points on each side?

Official weight limit is 100lbs but IMHO it will take significantly more, well in excess of what you need, COG will be raised though so bare that in mind... Pete
