Good point that. Never even occurred too me so think I'll drill two holes and pop rivet a metal plate on the bottom and top of it

So had a look at the brakes yesterday as I originally suspected the rear guards was knackered with all the screeching. Nope the push pins had both fallen out and stuck behind the disc so rectified that minor issue now I suspect the water pump is leaking as it appears quite wet behind the pump and it's dripping a bit so off too order one of them shortly. While under the bonnet decided to have a look at why one latch was holding the bonnet down. Turns out the clip inside the lock wasn't springing out and locking the bonnet down so wd40 and a flat head resolved that issue.

Decided as well I'll order a pair of speakers of the bay for the rear door and the centre dash as they are both dead.

Last weekend ordered a new pair of struts for the tailgate so that's sorted as well.

Only really need to get the key replaced n I'll be happy as the remote locking on it don't work being it's the bmw style key

Cheers mate. Yea I'll keep it running till its not cost efficient in parts too replace but wear n tear never bothers me. It's on 162k now but I was going Essex to county Durham 4 times a month a while ago so already had a good run.

I've always done progress pages for the cars I'm willing too pay money into. Subaru I'm in that at Β£25k so far n that's still got a way to go yet

Bad water leak appears to have arrived on the v8 and going through maybe 5 litres of water every 6 days.

Stripped it down n turns out the thermo stat was slightly loose so retightened that and it's fixed. Happy days

Whoops. Ripped the abs sensor off and damaged the splash guard. Guess I know what I'm doing on my days off at the weekend. Other then that car seems to be running good still.

So early finish from work today so cracked on with this sensor... only took two hours to sort it. Hour of that was spent trying to get the wheel off as it had seized its self to the hub.... soon as it was off decided no point being gentle with the old sensor so smash the top part off then git the drill out and a pair of pliers. 20 mins later hey presto it's off, bit of a tidy up on the outside and the inside followed by some gentle persuasion on popping it in and its all sorted. Clear it off on gap and it's sorted...

Loving your updates mate and glad you are still showing the old girl some love Smile

I so hate it when you set out to do a job and have to waste an hour getting the bloody wheel off. I learned that lesson with my P38 so its always been copper grease on the hubs every car for me since then.

Look after yourself and once again - thanks for all the stuff you lot do looking after us all!

Had a nice little trip today down to Trowbridge today too pick up a 2md hand set of wheels for the car. Decent price and even took the trailer with me. Ain't gonna lie a few times I forgot the trailer was even on the back lol

Sooooo the water leak returns so done a bit of investigation and you can see there is evidence of a water leak at the front of the valley pan gasket. Pretty sure it ain't that as I done this a while ago so decided to order a new pump just in case. Finally a day off from work so time to investigate. Turns out the previous person who done the pump didn't fit a gasket so thought what the hell might as well get it changed anyways. Took the car in for tracking and now gotta get the rear arms changed as well now oh the joy πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚. Other then that decided that I should spend my weeks earnings on two items for the subaru.
