A charger would be much more preferable... DONT start it to let it idle, leave it alone!

If you cant charge it then I would disconnect the battery if it's going to stand for a couple of months! (but check your door key/lock works first!)

And finally, if you only have the option to drive the car to charge the battery then I would drive it for at least 45mins to get a decent charge back in her... Don't forget every start equals 15mins driving! Thumbs Up

Rob99,
You can’t use the accessories socket in the boot because it shuts down as the car goes to sleep.

I connect my Ctek to the main battery feed in the boot and that works well for me.

I leave this cable permanently connected, then just plug in the Ctek when required.

The lead easily passes out in the bottom corner of the lower tailgate without getting trapped.

Thanks Mike Thumbs Up

I'll be charging mine on the drive so I'll put the ctek just inside the tailgate. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

That will be fine Rob..... the main advantage for me having the charger outside on the bumper is that I don’t need to open the tailgate to see the LED’s on the Ctek.... maybe you can see yours through the window ?

If you have your car plugged into anything, then leave something memorable on the driver's seat to remind you to unplug it all before dragging the whole lot down the road behind you.... Laughing Bish.

I have to talk wife into using mine for her drive to work every couple of weeks. Decent blast down the M6. Other wise it doesn't move, which after just paying £600 insurance is annoying Big Cry

The noco charger I have had an odb2 socket adapter, works great for the time I need to charge it.

Do I read this correct; you charged your car using the OBD2 socket? I've never heard of anyone doing that, I must admit I wouldn't be comfortable doing that. I could have that wrong but there is way too much electronics linked in that area to use it for charging; I'd feel it is too easy to fry an ECU/module etc.

I just charge using the actual jumpstart point in any car if required. Or often even better if I cant get it in my garage, just take the battery out.

The power feed is fused on the obd port. It wouldn’t affect anything else. You could only trickle charge through it. Sub 5amps.
For that reason alone it wouldn’t really be worth while. Just connect to points under bonnet.

As above, as long as battery is kept charged, tyres inflated, everything else will be fine sitting. Starting, idling will have negative effect long term.

The “site shop” tow bar adapter comes with a handy reminder card to put in the instrument binnacle. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Wow, that really is low usage! I've only had mine since mid June and I've filled it up 17 times, although that is less than half the mileage I did in the same period last year. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I hope you guys have consulted the relevant manual and not just blindly hooking up a charger to any point that is convenient.

If not you are playing with fire. There is a reason there is a designated point for charging (under the bonnet).
