Engine off the damping should be at max. Back end will feel very unstable when cornering. Mine were ‘OK’ at 170k miles and when pushing down on them off the car were still pretty stiff. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

My cars pushing 182k

Had a L405 sdv8 before this but i love my l322

Will try and source some rear shocks

Some on eBay but don't know if they will last long

Anyone know part numbers ?

Once replaced do they need calibration or should self learn? Not sure if that garage has the correct diagnostic tool for it

Be careful with cheap options. There have been examples of fakes with no CVD internals and a resistor to fool the ECU. Island4x4 seem to be the best place for OE ( Bilstein) 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Can someone also clarify what the engine off, shock bouncing test tells us

Why are the shocks solid with engine off ?

I thought they should firm up when current is applied...

Almost a certainty these are 'fake' CVD at that price.
Can't go wrong with these - https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/rear-shock-ab...39872.html 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Hi Jay

So basically the valves are broken in the rear shocks for them to be doing that?

£100 for a pair seems too good to be true!

Did see the ones on island 4x4, but pricey! Just want to be certain it is the rear shocks busted

I read on a post that cvd calibration is necessary if the ECU is replaced

If its of any help the rear shocks on 3 of my CVD equipped RRs were all easy to 'bounce test' with the engine off.

The fronts however were rock solid.

The rear of my car is rock solid with engine off. Maybe a couple of mm.
