2011 4.4 tdv8 over heating

Hi all
I have a 2011 4.4 tdv8
Today I have started to get over heating. She stays at normal temp when idling but when driving she goes up and occasionally hits red and I have to stop. I have checked everything through with no signs of leaks or drop in level.
I ran a diagnostic and no codes.
Any body got any ideas
Patrick

I’m thinking thermostat too...... radiator not blocked?

Enough oil and coolant? Assume so, as you say you’ve checked everything.

Sounds thermostatty Thumbs Up probably stuck shut.nothing much to the engine cooling system bar a pump, header tank, some hoses and the stat. So long as you haven’t lost coolant, and don’t have a big leak then start with the stat as it’s the cheapest fix option. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks all for that. Will get thermostat sorted and let you know how I get on.
One think to note is that I had to have a new emission gas sensor ( was stopping dpf regen )changed and a forced dpf clean.
To that end I had full service as is wise after a dpf burn and all was in order that’s why I’m confident on the oil level etc.

If it’s got so little oil that it’s overheating, you have bigger problems so that’s unlikely! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Morning Rob
The sensor changed was the oxygen sensor on bank 2. The awkward one on the near side exhaust manifold
