Sensible Air Flow Sensor Readings

Plugged my IID Tool in to a friend’s L405 today.

Was expecting the air flow readings to be the same for each bank.

Should they be the same and, if so, what would a normal reading at idle be?

Am I to assume that absolutely nobody has ever hooked up an IID unit to their diesel L405 and looked at the MAF numbers?

i looked in the WM [link in the wiki] and found this..apparently only one MAF sensor gives output which would account for your readings ???,

I read that to be temperature from one but air flow reading from both.

If not, why would you bother fitting a second unit?

Finally worked out why I was getting confusing numbers from the different MAF sensors.

It is a sequential turbo as we know, the confusion stemmed from why at idle it was showing such very different readings.

It appears that once it is warmed up there is no air through the second turbo until the revs get to around 3k rpm.

What I was seeing, and what was confusing, is why there is a small amount of air passing through at idle.

It turns out that when cold the second turbo does do very small amount of work, I can only assume to get things warmed up a little quicker.

NO idea why but will keep investigating if anyone is interested.
