That's not what I was told at Solihull on Tuesday or from the dealer who I bought the car from. All LR cars from 1984
2021.5 Vogue SE D300 Carpathian Grey
2018 Vogue SE British Racing Green GONE

I must admit, I thought it was the second half of this year until I was told this today - Have you got a delivery date for your new car yet Chalky?

Sorry Chalky, I've just read through the previous post and see that you've taken delivery already, the car looks stunning by the way Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I don't know what to make of this information I've received today. One dealership who I approached as part of my buying process has come to me with this unveil news today, at the same time, the dealer I've ordered with has told me that my order has been "unslotted" they're not sure why but think it maybe something to do with the 22MY, which is all beginning to make me wonder.

That said, you normally see some sort of spy shots without camouflage online before unveil, and there's been absolutely nothing, so I don't know what to think.

One thing that is for sure, is if they're wanting me to take a 22MY, I expect to pay the exact same price, which was 12% discount off the 21MY RRP!!!

Interesting, there’s been something on the Sport forum recently but I can’t find it now.

This makes some sense with what Ive been told by dealers regarding cars in the holding pool since late March with no assigned build date.

Thanks Aja for the compliments on the car. I’m really pleased with the colour but especially the D300 engine! It’s a step up from the TDV6, which was a good engine anyway.

My dealer said they haven’t heard anything about the new model and he said that after I’d bought the car, so he knew I wouldn’t have cancelled if I’d got whiff of a new one being launched. He also said he would give me the same discount if I wanted to change when it does come out!! All LR cars from 1984

It may not be accurate, it may just be that the dealer who I didn't buy from is trying to catch my interest, but I am a bit confused as to what's happening with my build slot.

To be honest, I don't know if my preference will still remain with the old car, so this may not be a step up as far as I'm concerned. Newer doesn't always mean better. I'm very fortunate that I could have ordered a new one if I'd wanted too but instead I wanted to order something which was well sorted and without any surprises.

In my opinion, the seats in my old 2016 L405 Autobiography were never as comfortable as the seats in my old 2007 L332 4.4 Jaguar V8 petrol, which I still drive every day, further reinforcing my belief that newer isn't always better.

We'll see what this week brings, just as long as the dealer doesn't expect me to pay more money for a model I didn't order!

After a bad experience with a couple of dealers over the Sport HST, I tend to take what they say with a pinch of salt, but the fact 3 dealers have all told me that their petrol engined L405 orders have been sat in the holding pool for some time without a build date suggests something is amiss. Agree completely, I wanted proven technology at least on the majority of the car. I was taking a bit of a punt on the engine going for the P400, but my logic was that its been around in the Sport HST for a while with good reviews. I don’t want to pay anymore either, there’s also the probability, as with all new products, that there will be teething troubles with the first production run, realistically you’re probably not going to see delivery before March/April 2022 as well.

If it is true, there aren’t many options open to you.

I hope so too, I don’t know what I’ll do to replace my car. The replacement for the Sport is probably 18 months away, as nice as they are and with proven technology, there’s nothing to really challenge a Range Rover.

We’ll see next week.

I think the information you've got, aja500, could be correct! Even though the production of L460 has been postponed to Q2-Q3 2022 (meaning L405 will still be the MY22 model), the plan from earlier this year was to launch the new L460 in June this year - all this info from my local dealer. It might be, of course, that LR will postpone the planned June launch due to the delay in the production.

Exiting days/weeks ahead of us!

I've heard today from another different source, that there's been a delay and the unveil has been put back by two weeks.

Certainly sounds imminent though.

I was told today that production of all FFRRs has stopped. The new one will be revealed shortly with deliveries starting around March.
